Chernobyl
2019, Oil on canvas,
mounted on a wooden stretcher frame —
90 x 90 cm / 35.4 x 35.4 in.

This painting is my tribute to those who suffered in the Chernobyl disaster. I shaped abstract forms into a landscape where decay and mutation dominate — a monstrous force rising from a shattered reactor. The dark tones and fractured lines reflect collapse and irreversible damage. A fallen sun sinks into a toxic lake, symbolizing lost hope. Through this, I question our current path and urge for transformation — clinging to old ways only deepens the ruin.
