Man on the Beach
2021, Oil on canvas,
mounted on a wooden stretcher frame —
80 x 100 cm / 31.5 x 39.4 in.
This painting began with a fleeting moment—an imposing figure on the shore who vanished before I could finish my sketch. I improvised, placing the figure on a surreal stand, turning him into a vessel of memory. His back now holds abstract forms, revealing inner landscapes rather than physical traits. A reddish sphere looms above, symbolizing the mystery of what lies ahead. Below, ghostly remnants of sea life mark the end of a season—an echo of life's fragility and cycles of change.
